In 2008 Bernheisel Race Components/ Lazer Chassis president, Jim Bernheisel saw the need for an in-house shock repair and rebuild service.
Two goals were in mind.
Offer first-class repair and technical service to Lazer Chassis oval track customers and offer the same quality and expertise to BRC customers from all forms of motorsports. Focus Shock Technologies began as one of the first factory authorized AFCO shock repair facilities in the nation before quickly expanding to stocking parts and performing service on Fox, JRI, Pro, Ohlins, Genesis, Penske, King, QA1, and many other brands.
Shock engineer, Drew Weisser has a diverse automotive background that includes dirt and asphalt oval racing, sports car racing, and drag racing. He currently races a dirt late model and has earned a reputation as one of the sharpest shock tuners in motorsports. Drew is assisted by Focus Shock’s founder, Brandon Bernheisel. Brandon’s knowledge of dirt oval track set-ups and suspensions has gained him many wins as a crew chief and tuner around the country. Drew and Brandon collaborate on most Focus builds and although relatively young, have over 40 years of racing experience between them.
The Focus team utilizes state of the art equipment including a Roehrig Shock Dyno and an Accuforce Spring Smasher as well as many custom built tools that allow for accurate and precise shock builds.
